Network connectivity issue HP Proliant DL380 G6 servers

In the last few weeks we had seemed to have lost connectivity to some Microsoft Server 2008 based Hyper-V hosts.

On closer investigation something common started to show in the results. All of these were HP Proliant DL360 G6 based hosts, and all of them were using the Q-Logic 4 Port NIC. Furthermore, the loss of connectivity was only on the management connection, the guest operating systems seemed to be working just fine. This started to look like some sort of driver issue. This has been more less confirmed by records in the event log that showed failed network driver updates!

The quickest way was to roll back the NIC driver, restart the server, download manually the most recent updates from the HP website and install these.

After the procedure has been done and the final restart of the host system, network connectivity has been fully restored.
